the Blog

Over the years I've had the chance to experience remote wilderness areas all over North America from the mountains of Arizona to the misty forests and rivers of British Columbia. Sometimes I write about my expeditions, other times I cover tips tricks, and wilderness living skills. From that time I froze in a hammock to how to save cash on outdoor gear, I hope you can find my blog helpful for you.

the Podcast

New in 2018! Sam has started the Woodsong Podcast, where he discusses wilderness related topics and interviews some of the most experienced wilderness folks in the world. The podcast is hosted here on woodsongwilderness.com, but you can also catch it on itunes, youtube, and stitcher.

Sam's goal is simple: illustrate the awesomeness of the natural world, by any means necessary. In a world filled with technology, millenial Sam Larson takes a different approach. He believes that a connection to nature is key to building leadership and problem solving skills in our modern world.

"Contrary to popular belief, it is my theory that we all have an inner desire to chase horizons and explore wild places. We didn't lose it, we buried it. Now we must dig it back up."
