The Raft - What's To Come On My Next Expedition

The other day I posted this photo to my facebook and twitter pages.  The photo (as many of you guessed) is indeed a raft!  I may not be the best artist, but I know that once I get to building, things will definitely start to come together.  Thats right, building!  I will be using duct tape, and garbage to build my "dumpster dived raft."  The challenges of this will be tough, but exciting to overcome.

I'll need to make this raft capable of taking on class III whitewater, and sharp deadfall, not to mention the fact that it needs to float many miles with both me and my gear onboard.

One thing is for sure.  I'm happy to say that this journey will not take on the "survival" theme like the others have (i.e. I will be consuming large amounts of delicious food).

Though I've done a good bit of research already, I have yet to learn about another expedition like mine ever being undertaken.  There are a lot of "duct tape kayaks" made, and a lot of "home made rafts" but neither of these have had to endure both whitwater, and a great distance.

Thank you for your support, as always!  Feel free to direct any questions to sam@samexplores.com!
