Sam's Gettin' Flabby - Time to Step it Up!

It's been about 7 weeks since I was in the remote Maine woods to assist Tim in his primitive skills course and canoeing course, and since then, I've gotten a bit "flabby."  For those of you who wonder exactly what I mean when I say "flabby," here's an outstanding blog post by Alastair Humphreys on the subject:

Mentally I've been letting my plans for starting up a wilderness skills/guide business sit on the back burner, so yesterday I began a write up for an upcoming one day "Survival Essentials" course that I will hold in the near future.  I'm excited to start a business of my own, and even more excited to share my wilderness skills!  I've also begun planning my next 2 expeditions, though funds will be considerably lower for this year (and I thought I was already on a shoe string budget!).  For some reason, I actually enjoy the challenge of finding new ways to spend less and less money on expeditions.  The more ways I find to spend less, the more I can help other experience the beautiful wild lands of this country, and the world!

Physically I've really gotten out of the habit of working out.  I've even started to develop a small belly, something I would have never imagined could happen since I was a stick for the first 18 years of my life.  I'll be making you all aware of my exact fitness goals in the future.  For now, I need to get my fitness level back up to where I was!

As far as this blog is concerned I'm planning on a new series about wilderness survival that will start shortly.
As always, thank you so much for reading my blog, and supporting the site.
